Unveiled: Crash Team Rumble Release Date and Beta

After years of development, Crash Team Rumble is finally approaching its launch. This latest spin-off in the franchise offers a departure from the norm, with its MOBA-style gameplay in a competitive multiplayer environment.

According to an announcement from Activision, the official launch date for Crash Team Rumble is June 20th. This follows the recent gameplay leak, which showed a 30-second clip of the game in action. The game is being developed by Toys for Bob and will be available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, and PS5. However, it’s peculiar that a PC release hasn’t been announced, especially for a MOBA-style game.

From April 20th to 24th, there will be a beta available, but unfortunately, only pre-order customers will have access. No open beta plans have been announced.

Crash Team Rumble’s base game will cost $29.99, which is an unusual move for a MOBA, as these games are generally free-to-play. For $39.99, a deluxe edition will be available, which includes the Season 2 battle pass (the base version of the game comes with the first battle pass for free) and a set of battle pass tier skips and unique skins.

During the beta, players will be able to choose from five playable characters: Crash, Coco, Dingodile, Dr Neo Cortex, and Tawna.

It’s disappointing that there’s no PC release for the game, but this is consistent with recent releases in the Crash Bandicoot series, which were initially released on consoles before coming to PC. However, if Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard goes ahead, this could change in the future.
