Nintendo’s annual September Direct stream is a highly anticipated event for gamers, offering a sneak peek at upcoming titles slated for release in the final quarters of the current year and the first quarter of the following year.

In keeping with tradition, this year’s Nintendo Direct didn’t disappoint. During the live-streamed event, Nintendo unveiled a plethora of exciting new games, one of which is the eagerly awaited addition to the Mario VS Donkey Kong series.

The Mario VS Donkey Kong series originally made its debut back in 2004 on the Game Boy Advance, captivating players with its unique blend of puzzle-solving and platforming gameplay. Over the years, the franchise has seen several iterations, each building upon the beloved formula. Now, fans can rejoice as a brand-new instalment is set to grace the Nintendo Switch in early 2024.

In this latest instalment, the premise remains as compelling as ever. Donkey Kong has mischievously made off with all the precious Mini Mario toys straight from the factory’s assembly line. It’s up to Mario, everyone’s favourite Italian plumber, to embark on an adventure filled with challenging puzzle-platformer levels to recover his cherished Mini Marios. These levels are ingeniously designed, featuring compact spaces filled with a multitude of obstacles that will truly test your gaming prowess. As you progress, the climactic showdown with Donkey Kong himself looms ever closer.

Mark your calendars, as the release date for Mario VS Donkey Kong on the Nintendo Switch is set for February 16, 2024.
