COD Warzone Mobile release date pushed back to late 2023
Activision announced the development of a mobile version of the popular free-to-play battle royale game, Call of Duty Warzone, following its huge success. The game was originally scheduled for release this month, but has been postponed until the end of the year.
Apple recently informed iOS users who had pre-ordered Call of Duty Warzone Mobile about the game’s delay via email.
“Hello, Thank you for pre-ordering Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile on the App Store. We wanted to let you know that the developer, Activision Publishing, has moved the launch to a later date. The game is now expected to be released by November 1, 2023.”
For those unfamiliar with it, Call of Duty Mobile has been available as an app for several years and has amassed over half a billion players. However, Warzone Mobile is intended to be a more faithful adaptation of the console/PC version, featuring cross-progression, the same arsenal of weapons, and more.
After its official announcement in March 2022, the game has undergone a series of limited test releases, primarily in regions such as Australia, Sweden, Norway, and Chile.
Thanks to advancements in mobile technology, devices nowadays are quite powerful and are often capable of running console games with minimal compromises. Hopefully, the delay in the release of Warzone Mobile will result in a more refined and polished gaming experience by the time it hits the market on November 1st.
