Square Enix set the gaming world abuzz a while back with the announcement of Kingdom Hearts 4. Given the lengthy gap between Kingdom Hearts 2 and 3, fans weren’t holding their breath for a quick release. However, a recent leak has stirred up excitement by suggesting that Kingdom Hearts 4 could hit screens in 2025.

The leak comes from DanielRPK, a well-known source for insider information, often shared via Patreon. According to DanielRPK, Kingdom Hearts 4 is slated for a 2025 release, marking a significant milestone since its initial reveal in 2022. Details about the game have been scarce since the announcement, but rumours suggest that development kicked off in 2020. Considering Square Enix’s recent pace with the Final Fantasy series, there’s a chance Kingdom Hearts might follow suit with quicker turnaround times.

While DanielRPK’s expertise lies mainly in film leaks, their ties to Disney, evident from past Marvel and Star Wars leaks, add weight to this Kingdom Hearts revelation. It’s worth noting that the information likely stems from Disney’s side rather than Square Enix’s, indicating potential for shifts in release plans.

The franchise’s last installment, Kingdom Hearts 3, landed in 2019 for Xbox and PlayStation platforms. A subsequent deal with Epic Games brought the entire series to PC, though exclusively through the Epic Games Store, bypassing Steam altogether.
